In life, there are times when we have to start over again - a new love, a new job, a new life. It might be a matter of choice or it might just be something we have to do. Regardless of the underlying reasons, such a new beginning is not always easy and we are bound to face the new situation with ambiguous feelings: the excitement of a fresh start with lots of new opportunities and challenges, mixed with the sadness of leaving behind the familiar and facing up to the unknown.
Whether it is a new job, the move to a new location, or a change in personal circumstances - going it all alone is tough. Even if there is not a great deal we can do to help with the process of the new beginning itself, the mere fact that we are there to show our support and friendship, is invaluable. And what nicer way could there be to do so than with a little gift, complemented by a meaningful personal message?

I had my license at 15 because the state allowed me to drive. I drove a Clunker... the worst one. Then my mother gave me a brand new Neon. I always wanted a Mustang, but told her it was not practical and too expensive for me, and that I would prefer a sporty 4-door. I loved that car, sadly it was totaled in an accident by another person. One day I took my Grandma's car to Mom's office to go to lunch with her, it was summer, and she said... oh we will take my car... as we are walking into the parking garage she says, will you drive? I say.. ummmm ok.. she then hands me "her" keys. They don't look like her keys so I ask what is this, and she says, why don't you push the panic button. I do, and there is a white Mustang sitting in front of me, all mine!
I was not able to read the old bible because the letters were very small, I wanted to buy a big lettered for a long time but could not afford to buy one. I value this gift as a gift from God and I am able to read my bible.
Pillow for my dorm room bed, called a "husband"
As I was getting ready to leave home for the first time to go to college, my sister-in-law came to visit carrying something she called a "husband." It was a pillow with a big back and arms that I could put on my dorm room bed and recline on. I had never heard of nor seen anything like it, but she assured me that it would be very useful. I was skeptical but took it to college with me anyway. I noticed a few other people had one so I put it out on my bed. Wow! I could lay back and still do my homework. It was so comfortable and I used it every day. As a matter of fact, I kept and used that pillow for ten years after college graduation before it finally feel apart. This was a very thoughtful, useful, and long-lasting gift.
Labyrinth / Maze
The maze is associated with the choices required to reach safety during the journey of life.
The maze is also linked to the confusion and contradiction of the unconscious mind. Arriving at the center means discovery of the self.
The lightbulb is often used to depict a flash of inspiration or the conception of an idea. This is based on the ancient concept of the transfer of spiritual energy and strength from the source of light - the sun - to the human intellect.
Keep on going, and the chances are that you will stumble on something, perhaps when you are least expecting it. I never heard of anyone ever stumbling on something sitting down.
Vitality shows in not only the ability to persist but the ability to start over.
The great majority of men are bundles of beginnings.
The future lies before you Like a field of driven snow, Be careful how you tread it, For every step will show.
Wherever you go, go with all your heart.
